There’s very little time left before iOS 18.2 and the second phase of Apple Intelligence: they announced the possible release date
Only three more weeks

It seems that the release date for iOS 18.2 is already on the horizon. According to a notification from the British operator EE, we could see this new update on Monday, December 9. As reported by MacRumors, EE has announced to its customers that it will stop offering the Wi-Fi calling feature on compatible iCloud devices on that same day, allowing us to draw some conclusions.
The second Monday of December, as far as we know
The second developer beta of iOS 18.2 released last week, already contained the new version of EE carrier settings, 60.5.2, which replaces the previous version 59.5.1 that appeared in the first beta of iOS 18.2 and in iOS 18.1. This configuration update removes the “Add Wi-Fi calls for other devices” option from the Wi-Fi Calls section on EE network iPhones.
Given that this type of carrier settings updates usually come along with iOS updates, and since Apple has already confirmed that iOS 18.2 would arrive in December, the date of the 9th seems quite likely. The choice of a Monday also follows Apple’s trend, which usually releases its updates at the beginning of the week.
This is a highly anticipated update. Let’s remember that iOS 18.2 brings a long list of new features that we have seen in the first, second, and third beta, especially in the second part of Apple Intelligence. The new Image Tools include Genmoji and the Image Playground, as well as the integration of ChatGPT in Siri. Improvements for which we no longer want to wait much longer and that are apparently just over three weeks away.
