The most successful Spider-Man movie in history has just arrived on Netflix

There is no doubt that Marvel Studios is not having its best year. The studio is going through a bit of a slump after reaching its peak with Avengers: Endgame, and following controversies involving the actor who portrays its major antagonist Kang, the future of its movies remains uncertain. However, just two years ago, they released one of the most significant movies in their entire history: Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Now, the film has just arrived on a new platform, promising it a new lease of life: Netflix. The streaming service has premiered the movie in hopes of securing another major success in its catalog. Although the film had already landed on Movistar+, its debut on Netflix clearly indicates that it can reach much further thanks to the large number of subscribers the platform boasts.

The keys to the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home grossed a whopping 1.921 million dollars, just behind Infinity War and Endgame. This means that it is the third highest-grossing superhero film in history, and that only two major films about the Avengers (which also featured Spidey himself) have been above it in history.

But it is not for less. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a phenomenon by uniting the three Peter Parkers that we have known in conventional cinema: Tobey Maguire’s, Andrew Garfield’s and Tom Holland’s. In addition, it featured the return of villains played by Willem Dafoe or Alfred Molina, thus being a great crowd of characters known to everyone.

Thanks to this movie, Marvel fully embraced the multiverse concept it’s currently exploring, with varying degrees of success. But, be that as it may, the truth is that it’s one of Marvel’s great pillars, and now it hopes to surpass itself thanks to its addition to the Netflix catalog.
